A Monster In The Lake 2022 54cm Embroidered Anew Fusion, slumping, screen printing, Only when I grew up did I find out that Grandpa Tuvia did not exist, neither did the lion. Both were figments of my grandfather's imagination. He managed to create an entire world, made up of people and animals, that would appear in the stories he told me. I didn't know what to believe and what not, reality and imagination were interwoven. As I crochet and weave my grandmother’s embroidery anew, I create images and imaginations, as if swimming between the threads, asking again- is it real? This story tells about a herd of deer that went a long way and wanted to drink water from the lake, but in the lake there was a monster that devoured everyone who came to drink from it. The leader of the herd found a solution, they picked reeds and used them as straws. photo by Sasha Palit
